Doreen Carter

Doreen Carter, known as the “chief community officer,” was elected in 2015. A strong advocate for education, public safety, and economic development, she has led initiatives including the East Metro DeKalb CID. An accountant and business owner, she serves on several House committees and was recognized as Legislator of the Year by the Georgia Association of Educators in 2022.
